Dear K.Sadat Noor,
You said that, "Yes i do agree that the salwa judum campaign is leading towards a major disaster and complete erosion of indigenous culture namely tribal which is unique in many senses."
But what about naxals who destroyed many totems, religious symbols and beat down many tribal and religious leaders. Why dont you speak of them? Did not they destroy our culture? First read about "Cultural revolution of Mao" then comment about cultural devastation by Salwa Judum.
Major challenge Salwa Judum has to face is "Rescuing lives of thousands of tribals"

Salwa - Judum camps are relief camps for the victims of the Naxalites' brutalities. Salwa - Judum is in fact "Response of the Nange Paon (Poor) people of Bastar division" to the violence perpetuated by the naxalites.
One should go to the relief camps, speak to victims and then propagate ones' notion about any thing or event.

Hi

Salwa Judum, I think, cannot be the alternative

to tackle 'Naxalites' or "Maoists" activities. It is imprudent to have introduced or pop up of such a battalion in the guise of civilian. Rather, the elected government should try to understand why all such activists are born and what is their aim. Main thing, is DEVELOPMENT of the region in all respect which the people of the region cherish to keep pace with the modern time.

So, it is wise to defrost Salwa Judum which might in turn become a boomarang to the State officials itself. It is a dangerous game, in otherwords.

Hi,

As per my view, the Salwa Judum is a good initiative taken by the Chhattisgarh govt. However, the govt. should check on regular basis the activities of activists of Salwa Judum, to achieve the main motive of this initiative.

Dear K Saadat Noor,

I agree with all that you have written above but I think that more can be done if the correct laws in India are followed, the book named -

The State of India's Indigenous and Tribal People
2007 - ISBN 81-902318-5-5

and web site www.aitpn.org should also be a help. The constitution of India has laws to protect these people -scheduled tribes Act (366(25)) and article 342 of the constitution of India-recognition of the forest rights Act of 2006.

As India is a member of the United Nation's is there any way that U.N. peacekeepers could be brought in, India as well as all nation's pay membership and this obvious blatant disregard for human life and property which has been going on now for too long needs immediate and urgent attention.
